What is Stay N' Play?
Vetcetera Animal Hospital is excited to offer day time care for your pets!

In HRM, dog daycares present a special challenge when dealing with zoning by-laws.

Even if dogs are not housed in outdoors - doggy daycares are considered kennels.  Only certain zones are allowed to have kennels. Because one of the main focuses at Vetcetera Animal Hospital is the prevention of problems with our furry companions - though we are not allowed to call our facility a dog daycare, we are allowed to keep dogs for the day to - well you know - STAY 'N PLAY.

We place a strong emphasis on the benefits of regular exercise and socialization for the prevention of behaviour problems, and obesity in dogs. Since Doggy Stay N' Play is providing dogs with both of these, we have been granted permission to have dogs stay with us for the day. 

At Stay 'N Play, experienced staff closely supervises the group’s interactions and provide bedding, clean water, and regular trips to an enclosed run outdoors for bathroom breaks. Each Stay N' Play guest is given an initial complimentary socialization assessment before their first visit to ensure their compatibility with other dogs. This allows us to maintain a fun and safe atmosphere for all Stay N' Play guests. Dogs of all breeds, ages, sizes, and personalities make up our regular play group.

Why Enrol?
       Dogs benefit greatly from regular exercise and socialization that is provided at dog daycare. Dogs are inherently social animals, driven by pack instincts. Having doggy friends helps them to lead well-balanced and happy lives. Stay N' Play can provide your pet with something to look forward to while you're at work or  running errands. Its great for dog socialization even if you are at home.  It can also help to overcome minor cases of separation anxiety and timidness. Dogs that typically jump, bark, and run in circles when you arrive home can be picked up ready for a nap after an exciting day of play with pals.

When?
Doggy Stay ‘N Play is open Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 730 am -6 pm. We are conveniently located on the Bedford Highway and have a main street entry for easy drop-off and pick-up. Pets can stay for the full day or may join us for a half day as well. 

Who can Enrol?
           Any dog 6 months or older who is up to date on all necessary vaccines and parasite prevention, and has been spayed/ neutered at least 14 days prior to enrolment. All Stay N' Play guests must complete a socialization assessment before their first visit. The assessments are complimentary and take about one hour.  We have your dog stay with us and see how they interact with other dogs without you being present.  Enrolment forms and proof of vaccines must be filled out prior to your dog's first visit.
