Internal parasites are those that infect the "inside" of pets. Unlike external parasites, we don't see these parasites, but they can have devastating effects on pet and human health.

Samantha Pomroy graduated from the Nova Scotia Agricultural College in may of 2011 with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Animal Science. While completing her degree, she worked as a Veterinary Assistant at a small animal practice in Truro. During this time she gained experience with a wide variety of species, including wildlife. Samantha joined Vetcetera Animal Hospital in April 2011 and is the newest member of the team! She has a great passion for animals and veterinary medicine and therefore enjoys helping patients and clients in any way she can. Alyse Andrews grew up in Hants County with a pack of 5 dogs and a couple horses. She was training and showing dogs at an early age with her family, specifically her mother who now teaches obedience and agility classes and shows full-time. After graduating from Mount St Vincent with a bachelors degree in psychology in 2008 Alyse went on to work at a local farm teaching horse-back riding lessons and leading trail rides, gaining knowledge and experience in animal behaviour and care. Alyse joined the team at Vetcetera Animal Hospital in the early spring of 2011 as the Stay N' Play attendant. She spends her days at Vetcetera Animal Hospital in the daycare supervising our furry guests at play, making sure their stay is fun and safe! In her free time Alyse still trail guides and works with horses, or visits her retired agility champion Skye at her parents' house in Hants County. Keeping her company in her apartment here in Halifax is a rescued 3 year old barn cat named India.
