We strongly believe in the benefits of good preventative health care for your pet. We are enthusiastic and willing to take the extra time and effort to address any concerns and questions regarding your pets' health. Client education and practicing excellent quality medicine are our number one priorities.
The team members at Vetcetera Animal Hospital staff are knowledgeable, friendly and willing to help you and your pet in any way possible. We moved in July 2010 to our brand new facility and would gladly give you a clinic tour if you have not had the chance yet. We welcome "social visits" - feel free to stop in with your pet for a chat, a treat and a tour of our clinic. Bring along a friend or pass on the word that we are here and ready to serve pet owners in Bedford and beyond!
Veterinarian: Dr. Emma Raghavan
Originally from Cape Breton and very happy to be practicing in Bedford. It has been her lifelong dream to be a veterinarian. From a young age, she dragged home stray cats and injured birds and with her family's love of pets - many were happily rehomed and treated. Her thoughts of pursuing a career in animal care waivered only once when she wanted to be a truck dirver. Luckily for all those on the roads - she stuck with her longtime dream of becoming a veterinarian.
Following graduation in 1994 from the Atlantic Veterinary College in PEI, Dr. Raghavan started off her career in Vermont. She practiced at a mixed animal clinic providing routine and emergency care to "all creatures great and small." She then turned her focus to small animal medicine, surgery and emergency work with a small animal clinic in Winnipeg. Upon return to Halifax in 1998, Dr. Raghavan practiced at both the Metro Animal Emergency Clinic and a local exotics/small animal clinic. In June 2000, she established Vetcetera Animal Hospital and is proud of the new facility and new services that Vetcetera now offers. Dr. Raghavan has a special interest in small animal medicine and dentistry with a focus on client education and preventive care.
When Dr. Raghavan is not busy being a veterinarian - she enjoys hiking with her dogs Ranger and Pupper. She loves to run, kayak and hopes to someday have a green thumb. She enjoys time spent with family and friends as well as with her two feline friends Felix and Pounce. She is pleased to serve clients and their companions in Bedford, Halifax and all the surrounding area and thanks them for their loyal following over the years.
